MANILA, PHILIPPINES — Leading telco and digital services provider PLDT recently partnered with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and the University of the Philippines Open University (UPOU) for the launch of the 2017 PLDT Infoteach Outreach Program through a memorandum of understanding signed recently.

Now on its 13th year, the program continuously creates better platforms for the acquisition of digital literacy which helps every individual to adapt within the 21st century learning and teaching arena in the barangay level.

Since its onset in 2004, the program has produced over 26,000 student and teacher graduates, which benefited from its training courses and modules that encourages a pro-active training curriculum. This focuses on productivity tools for higher efficiency of doing work and studying; social capital and empowerment; 21st century skills; global competitiveness; and life-long learning.

PLDT’s partnership with DICT also marks a more inclusive Infoteach Outreach Program as it aims to cater to the out-of-school-youth (OSYs), senior citizens, and women through the LGU’s Community eCenters and tech4ed centers.
