Social media personalities who are staunch government supporters have come to the defense of Assistant Secretary Margaux “Mocha” Uson and have tried to justify the controversial “i-pederalismo” video despite widespread condemnation.

Uson lashed out at senators who threw scathing remarks at her in a new post on her Facebook page and accused them of redirecting the issue.

Uson changed her tone in a TV interview and saying that because of the viral video, it was now the perfect opportunity for experts to explain about federlism because it was now a hot topic.

Kung napapag-usapan ngayon, masama man o mabuti, ay ipaliwanag naman po ng mga eksperto. Take this opportunity na ipaliwanag na po ang pederalismo,” she said.

Uson’s co-host in the viral video Drew Olivar clapped back at critics saying they are the ones with “dirty” minds in a lengthy rant he shared on Facebook last Sunday.

“Parang may sinabi na, ‘diyan lang ba napunta yung P90 million?‘ Hindi pa nga nabibigay ‘yung budget di ba? Hoy! para sabihin ko sa inyo, hindi ako nababayaran dahil mayaman ako,” Olivar said.

Pro-administration blogger Sass Rogando Sasot justified the video and dance by claiming that federalism will improve the reproductive health of citizens.

Senators and members of the consultative committee have expressed their disdain for the video that featured Uson and Olivar.

Executive Secretary Salvador Medialdea had reportedly gotten angry after he found out about the video and gave orders to PCOO Secretary Martin Andanar to have Mocha stay out of the federalism information campaign.

Akbayan party-list Rep. Tom Villarin has made a call to slash the budget of the PCOO given its previous string of blunders.

“[Assistant Secretary] Uson would better remember that she is already a public official who must perform, not lewd acts of comic material, but her duties to the Filipino people with integrity and respect,” he said.

Consultative committee spokesman Ding Generoso had previously said they are thinking of tapping Mocha Uson to educate the public about federalism given her huge following on social media.
