MANILA, Philippines — Only three trains of the Metro Rail Transit System Line 3 were running at 5 a.m. Wednesday, February 14, even as the beleaguered transport firm’s management said the situation is expected to improve as spare parts they had ordered began arriving.
MRT’s management said the parts needed to repair the transit system’s trains started arriving Tuesday with the bulk expected to be delivered on Friday.
The spare parts come from Europe and China.
MRT management acknowledged that at least 15 trains need to be operational to accommodate the estimated 500,000 commuters who use it daily.
