MOSCOW — Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump discussed bilateral relations and situation in the Korean Peninsula during a telephone call, the Kremlin said in a statement early on Friday.
Both leaders agreed to continue contacts, the Kremlin added, but did not provide further details.
The White House confirmed this and said a statement about their conversation will be released later in the day.
“President Trump spoke with Putin earlier today and a read out will be sent later tonight,” White House spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said in an emailed statement.
