MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine embassy in Tel Aviv has urged Filipinos there to take precautions as protests erupted over U.S. President Donald Trump’s recognition of Jerusalem as the capital of Israel.

At least two persons have been reported killed during clashes between protesters and Israel security forces.

The embassy advisory, dated December 7, urged Filipinos to avoid some of Jerusalem’s most famous sites, many of which are revered by Christians, which have become flashpoints for the protests.

Among these are the Temple Mount and the Mount of Olives.

It also advised postponing visits to the West Bank, where Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ, is located.
