MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte has extended the term of Armed Forces of the Philippines chief of staff Rey Leonardo Guerrero, Malacañang said Thursday, December 7.
Guerrero, who was originally supposed to step down on December 17, when he turns 56, the age of compulsory retirement, will now serve until April 24, 2018, Duterte’s spokesman Harry Roque said.
Before becoming AFP chief, Guerrerro headed the Davao City-based Eastern Mindanao Command.
