Three boys of minor age in Davao City found a grenade, most likely one that is launched from a 40-mm M203-equipped rifle, and fancied toying with it.
What they decided to do was cook it for fun by grilling it over a fire.
Before long after heating up, the explosive went off right in front of them.
They never knew what hit them, of course.
Their faces were almost unrecognizable after the blast.
Their relatives are distraught. The boys are from a broken family, and all they can do is depend on good Samaritans to help them get through the tragedy.
Maribel Algenio, an aunt, tells News5 perhaps the Office of the Mayor might be able to extend some assistance.
