ANGELES CITY – Two bodies, both soaked with blood, were discovered dead in a bathroom in a house on Savannah Greenplanes, at Barangay Cuayan here on November 2.

The victims were identified as Asis Pumbaya, 27 and Normalia Pumbaya, 29, both Muslim traders.

Roving security guard Armando Lubong of Adamero Security Agency, curious at seeing water gushing out of the victims’ residence, checked the place and found the gate leading to the front door had been left opened.

When he checked further, he found the water came from the bathroom where the victims lay dead in a pool of blood, in an advanced state of decomposition.

“Foul odor led us to the bathroom and were surprised to see the victims, both naked lying on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds,” said a police investigator.

Scene of the crime operatives searched the master bedroom at the second floor where they discovered 21 sachets of suspected methamphetamine hydrochloride (shabu) and other illegal drugs paraphernalia, including an improvised “tooter”.

Police also recovered spent shells and deformed slugs of an unknown caliber of firearms at the crime scene.

Victims’ neighbors told the police they did not notice anything unusual or hear gunshots in the past days.

Police said the suspects could have used a handgun equipped with a silencer.

Probers are still facing a blank wall as to the motive of the killer, but are not ruling out a crime of passion.
