At Iloilo International Airport , Oplan Undas a passenger assistance desk is manned by a nurse and a roving supervising nurse.

MANILA – The Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) started its implementation of Oplan Undas 2017 in anticipation of the increase in the number of passengers for All Saints’ Day and All Souls’ Day.

Under the said operation plan, added measures were put in place to ensure safe, reliable, and convenient operations at all 39 commercial airports in the country in the next two weeks.

Coordination has been made with airlines for the efficient processing of passengers, especially at the check-in counters. The airlines are deploying additional personnel as needed to accommodate the increase in travelers.

Check-in counters are opened 2 hours before departure of a domestic flight and 3 hours prior to an international flight. Counters close 45 minutes before departure.

Maximum deployment of service and security personnel will be observed and a “no leave” policy is imposed during the entire duration of Oplan Undas.

Meanwhile, help desks manned by duty officers are being set up to accommodate passenger concerns. Travelers are also reminded not to bring prohibited items to the airport and to stow all belongings in one’s carry-on baggage for faster processing at the screening checkpoints.

CAAP Director General Capt. Jim C. Sysiongco said that, just as Filipinos have packed their bags for Undas this year, CAAP is also prepared for the influx of passengers.

“At the spirit of Oplan Undas is the passenger. We want to make sure that traveling will be as hassle-free as possible as we observe the solemnity of the occasion,” Sydiongco said.
