COTABATO CITY, Philippines — Twenty-two New People’s Army fighters have surrendered in Sultan Kudarat province, the military said.
The rebels from Guerrilla Front 73 yielded in Senator Ninoy Aquino town, 33rd Infantry Battalion commander Harold Cabunoc said.
They also turned in guns and improvised explosive devices, Cabunoc added.
This brings the number of NPA fighters who have surrendered to the battalion since May to more than 50, all of whom have been provided livelihood assistance by the government, the battalion commander said.
