PAGASA: ODETTE continues to move toward West Philippine Sea; no more storm signals hoisted

The state weather bureau Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration, or PAGASA, reported that Severe Tropical Storm Odette had “slightly intensified” on Saturday afternoon as it was slowly moving towards the West Philippine Sea.

PAGASA said “moderate to occasionally heavy rains” can be prevail over Metro Manila, Ilocos region, CALABARZON, MIMAROPA and the provinces of Zambales and Bataan, even as “Odette” is expected to exit the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) in the evening Saturday.

Sea travel remains risky over the seaboards of Northern Luzon, the western seaboard of Central Luzon and the western and southern seaboards of Southern Luzon due to the weather disturbance.

All tropical cyclone warning signals associated with “Odette” are now lifted.

At 4:00 p.m. Saturday, the center of the storm was plotted at 300 kilometers West of Laoag City, Ilocos Norte, at coordinate 18.1 °N, 117.8 °E., forecast to move Northwest at 10 kph.
