MANILA, Philippines — An elderly widower was shot dead by motorcycle-riding killers as he rode a jeepney in Barangay Potrero, Malabon City Tuesday morning.
Closed circuit television showed a motorcycle with two men onboard stop beside a jeepney, on its way to Bulacan, and then the pillion rider draw a gun and open fire.
Moments later, passengers poured out of the vehicle to flee while the driver ran toward a police station just meters away to report the shooting. The killers had driven past the station as they fled.
Eden Chuanico, 78, who was shot in the head and neck, was rushed to a nearby hospital but did not make it alive.
