MANILA, Philippines — A 70-year old American pedophile wanted in the U.S. state of Florida for violating his parole was arrested over the weekend by Immigration agents in Angeles City and will be deported.

Immigration Commissioner Jaime Morente said Ronald Omar Pelletier was arrested Saturday at hs home in Josefa Subdivision, Barangay Malabanias.

A U.S. district court issued an arrest warrant against Pelletier after he failed to inform authorities of his change of address.

Morente said the elderly American, whose passport has been cancelled by the State Department, will be “deported for being an undesirable and undocumented alien.”

Pelletier was sentenced to 18 months’ imprisonment and five years of supervised release, and also fined $10,000, after he was convicted of possession of child pornography on September 21 last year.

But it was only in March when U.S. authorities learned he had left his las known address, Bobby Raquepo, acting chief of the Bureau of Immigration’s fugitive search unit, said.

The American arrived in the country May 20.

Information from the US embassy said Pelletier’s supervised release requires him to notify authorities of any address change, participate in a mental health program for sex offenders, and to desist from having contact with minors and possessing pictures and videos of nude children.
