ANGELES CITY, Philippines — Two policemen assigned to separate units in Camp Crame and three civilians were arrested in a series of drugs buy busts in Barangays Cutcut, Malabanias and Pulong Cacutud Wednesday.

Chief Inspector Agnes Nolasco, city police information officer, identified the rogue law enforcers as Police Officer 2 Francisco Ganao, 44, of AU Compound in Barangay Malabanias and assigned to the Highway Patrol Group, and PO1 Amor Agustin, 30, of Fiesta Community in Barangay Tabun and detailed to the Police Holding Administrative Unit.

Nolasco said Ganao, who is reportedly listed as absent without official leave from the HPG, was arrested at the parking lot of SM City Clark after he handed a sachet of crystal meth or “shabu” to an agent posing as a buyer.

Ganao tried to evade arrest by running towards a store where pursuing policemen collared not only him but also Bernabe Patawaran, 20, who was repacking drugs.

Agustin, on the other hand, is listed as a “High Value Target” of the Angeles police and had surrendered during the earlier campaign against law enforcers involved in the drug trade. He was placed under surveillance following reports he had allegedly resumed dealing drugs.

The other suspects arrested were Jerald Cabrera, 21, of Mabalacat City and Aljon Razon, 21, of Barangay Cutcut, who yielded 14 sachets of drugs worth at least P240,000.
