OZAMIZ CITY, Philippines — Two of the four village watchmen who died in the bloody July 30 raids that also left Mayor Reynaldo Parojinog, his wife, two siblings and three other persons dead were buried Saturday as their families cried for justice.

The four members of the Barangay Peace Action Team, who their families maintain were not armed with guns, were manning an outpost outside the mayor’s house in Barangay San Roque and were the first to die in the early morning raid by police.

But authorities insist the BPAT members were part of the Parojinog’s alleged private army.

The incident has prompted other member of the San Roque BPAT to resign for fear of meeting similar fates.

Miguel dela Victoria and Daniel Vazquez were brought to the Aguada Public Cemetery past wreaths and signs calling for peace.

The two other slain BPAT members, Eldred  Requiron and Nestor Cabalan, are scheduled to be buried on Tuesday.
