MANILA, Philippines — Expect a wet Friday as the southwest monsoon or “habagat” continues to bring mostly cloudy skies and light to moderate rains but also occasionally heavy rains and thunder storms to Metro Manila, and the provinces of Zambales, Bataan, Cavite, Mindoro, and Palawan.

The rest of the country can expect partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

“Moderate to occasionally strong winds blowing from the southwest will prevail over the northern and western section of Luzon and the coastal waters along these areas will be moderate to occasionally rough,” the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration said.

“Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate coming from the south to southwest with slight to moderate seas,” it added.

Pagasa also continued keeping an eye on typhoon “Noru,” which was last tracked 1,370 kilometers northeast of extreme Northern Luzon, outside the Philippine area of responsibility.

The storm is packing winds of 160 kilometers per hour with gusts of up to 195 kph and moving west-northwest at 15 kph.
