BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — Although scenic Kennon Road remains open amid moderate to strong monsoon rains, the Department of Public Works and Highways in the Cordillera region is advising motorists heading to Baguo to take the Marcos Highway instead for safety purposes.
The DPWH regional office also said some roads in the region have been closed.
The Tabuk, Kalinga-Banaue, Ifugao Road (Dumanay section in Tanudan, Kalinga) is closed for clearing operations after a landslide in the area.
The Junction Talubin-Barlig-Natonin-Paracelis-Calaccad Road in eastern Mountain Province, on the other hand, is undergoing rehabilitation work on the approach to the Balabag Temporary Bridge in Talubin, Bontoc.
“All motorists are advised to take care while plying the roads this rainy season,” the DPWH said.
