MANILA, Philippines – Two partylist lawmakers were sworn into office on Monday, at the opening of the second regular session of the 17th Congress.

The entry of Francisco Datol Jr. and Milagros Aquino-Magsaysay of the party-list Coalition of Association of Senior Citizens in the Philippines brings to 293 the total number of members of the House of Representatives.

There were a total of 297 members, but three congressmen passed away and one was appointed as a Cabinet member.

Datol and Aquino-Magsaysay were finally recognized by the Commission on Elections as legitimate nominees of the party list and declared them official representatives to the House.
