BAGUIO CITY, Philippines — (UPDATE – 9:15 a.m.) Earthquakes jolted two provinces in the Cordillera region Saturday morning.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology recorded a 3.6 magnitude earthquake that jolted Mountain Province at 2:53 a.m.
The epicenter of the tectonic quake was in the vicinity of Bontoc. It had a depth of 11 kilomters.
The Cordillera Disaster and Risk Reduction Management Council reported no damage or injuries and said no aftershocks are expected.
In Abra, a magnitude-2.2 tectonic earthquake was also recorded at 3:30 a.m. with its epicenter near Tubo town.
A third quake, a magnitude 2.1 temblor, struck near Besao town, Mountain province at 6:29 a.m. with a depth of 40 kilometers.
