MANILA, Philippines – Three suspected illegal drug pushers were killed during a buy-and-bust operation inside Amparo Subdivision in Barangay 179, Caloocan City early Tuesday, July 4.

The police identified the fatalities as Santiago Militar, Jobert Reyes, and Lorenzo Daria.

According to the Caloocan police, one of the three persons drew out his gun and fired at an undercover agent after he grew suspicious of the latter during the drug transaction. The policeman then pulled his gun in defense and shot back at the men.

One of the bodies of the fatalities was left hanging in the barangay outpost after the encounter.

A grenade, a .45-calibre gun, an improvised firearm, marked money, and 17 sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were recovered from the operation.

Caloocan Police Chief Senior Supt. Chito Bersaluna said the suspected pushers were on the drug watch list of the barangay and the police.

Aside from selling illegal drugs, the three had also been involved in robbery, holdup, and stealing of motorcycles, according to authorities.
