MANILA, Philippines – President Rodrigo Duterte has found reason to again assail European nations and former U.S. President Barack Obama and defend his much-criticized war on drugs campaign following the recent murder and rape of a grandmother and her daughter and the killing of her three grandchildren in Bulacan.
“Napaka-torpe ‘tong pu**. Ngayon, kita mo ang nangyari. Tinanong siya sa pulis, ‘Bakit mga ginawa ‘yon? Wala, trip-trip lang kasi alcohol plus,'” said Duterte last Saturday, July 1, in his speech during an event celebrating the 50th Founding Anniversary of Davao del Norte held in Tagum City.

The President was referring to 26-year-old construction worker Carmelino Ibañez, who earlier admitted that he and his companions raped and murdered 58-year-old Auring Dizon, her daughter 35-year-old Estrella Dizon-Carlos and also killed the latter’s three children aged 1, 7, and 11 inside the victims’ rented apartment in Brgy. Sto. Cristo, San Jose del Monte, Bulacan.
Ibañez said he and his companions, Tony and Inggo, all took P150 worth of shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) during a drinking spree before the gruesome killings last June 27.
“Alam mo ‘pag nag-droga ‘yan, kasama ang alcohol niyan, sigurado ‘yan…Kaya ang advice nila sa ’kin itong EU, kaya ako galit, kaya ko pinupu*** i*a sila, binabastos nila ako. Kaya ang sabi nila doon, si Duterte dapat, ‘yong modern approach ng addiction is maglagay ako ng mga klinika, mag-produce ako ng shabu, heroin, cocaine. Ipanghatak ko, libre, kagaya sa Vancouver, Canada and The Netherlands,” Duterte said on Saturday.

He said the EU’s lenient approach to illegal drug use has resulted in many conflicts in Europe, including problems with terrorists, for instance in The Netherlands.
“‘Yan ang problema. Netherlands, ganon na ang gulo, mga terrorista, nag-iistambay diyan lahat. So I really do not know what they are trying to prove,” said Duterte.
The chief executive also hit Obama for allegedly talking down on him on the issue of addressing the drug problem as if he was a federal postal employee.
“Itong Obama na ito, he criticized me as if I was a federal government employee. Mura kog postal employee. [I was treated like a postal employee],” he said.
“Kaya sinabi ko, ‘Fu** you. You can go to hell, Mr. Obama.’ Bakit mo ako... I’m just trying to protect my country. Bakit mo ako turuan kung paano…tapos sabihin mo, file-an file-an mo pa ako ng kaso? Pu** ka. O ‘di mag-file ka ng kaso,” said Duterte.

The President said the Philippines must continue its fight against illegal drugs because if his administration won’t be able to finish its anti-narcotics campaign, the Filipinos and their children would face a difficult future.
“Pilipinas, droga, ‘pag hindi natin nakontrol ito, remember this, ‘pag hindi ko nakontrol, hindi ko natapos ito, mahirapan kayo, mga anak ninyo. Maniwala kayo.”
Meanwhile, Department of Justice Vitaliano Aguirre II has ordered the National Bureau of Investigation to conduct an investigation into the Bulacan massacre and build up a case against the perpetrators of the crime.
“(NBI) Director (Dante) Gierran shall submit a report on its current activities related to the implementation of this order to the Office of the Secretary of Justice,” said Aguirre in DOJ Order No. 446 issued last June 30.
