MANILA – The Resorts World Manila (RWM) management has released the CCTV footage covering the period of the attack past midnight Friday that killed 38 people, including the lone perpetrator.
The CCTV shows the man, wearing black and carrying a backpack, disembarking at the casino’s drop-off area just past midnight Friday, June 2 – clocked at 12:07 a.m.
The taxi driver told police he picked up the man in San Lazaro, Manila, and he asked to be brought to Resorts World in Pasay City, speaking in straight Tagalog.
After being dropped off, the gunman entered through the access at the building parking, bringing his backpack.
He is then seen casually entering the elevator, where two female hotel guests are also seen; he exits at the second floor.
On leaving the elevator, he put on his face mask.

At 12:11 a.m., he enters the second floor of the mall and goes past the metal detector.
A security personnel tries to stop him, but he shows a gun, prompting the security person to step back.
People start scampering at this point.
When the gunman first fires his gun, the hotel security calls the police.
While waiting for police backup, hotel security personnel start evacuating some 12,000 hotel and casino guests and employees.
Some guests start shouting “ISIS!” while being evacuated.
At 12:12 a.m., the suspect enters the Prosperity Court restaurant, while firing his gun.
On reaching the casino area, he sets fire to the gaming tables at the second floor main gaming area.
He also enters the gaming salon and torches a gaming table.

The gunman proceeds to Bar 180 and fires his gun. He then sets fire to the dining area.
Subsequently, he goes to the slot machines and sets them on fire.
After a few minutes, the gunman reaches the back house area of the second floor.
He forces open the security doors and enters the chip bank room.
Inside the chip bank, he stuffs into his bag some P113 million worth of high-denomination plaque chips.
At 12:20 a.m. hotel security and PNP personnel track down the suspect.
One armed security staff of Resorts World waits for the gunman at the exit.
At 1:10 a.m, the gunman is seen at the basement area, and exchanges fire with the security team.
The CCTV shows the gunman’s face bleeding, apparently hit by a bullet; he slows down. He goes up a staircase to avoid the police and security.
Resorts World officers who briefed the police and media said that when the gunman became weak from his injury, he just abandoned his bag with the chips.
Close to 2 a.m., the gunman reaches the fifth floor corridor of the hotel.
He enters one room, then goes out an torches a blanket at the hallway.
The gunman re-enters the room, where he is said to have set himself on fire and shot himself.
Police find the suspect’s burned remains inside the room.
