MANILA, Philippines — Agents of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and the Bureau of Immigration arrested two suspected Koreans who had broken out of Camp Bagong Diwa in March, one of them the suspect in the murder of three compatriots.
A CIDG statement said Jung Jaeyul and Park Wang Yeol, the murder suspect, were arrested early Saturday at the Ducas Apartment in Macabolos, Tarlac.
A .38 caliber pistol, assorted identification cards and a laptop were seized from the foreigners, who are also suspected of swindling.
Senior Superintendent Wilson Asueta, CIDG National Capital Region director, said Park is the subject of an Interpol “Blue Collar Notice” as a suspect in the murder of three Koreans in Pampanga.
Jung and Park escaped from Camp Bagong Diwa on March 6, the CIDG said.
The two have been charged for violating the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Law.
Also on Saturday, in Laguna, officers of the CIDG provincial office and other police units seized six firearms from Darwin Castillo in Purok 7, Brangay San Miguel, Pila town.
