CLARK FREEPORT – More domestic and international flights will be open in the next few days at the Clark International Airport, and the latest to join the bandwagon of airlines flying out of Clark to different island destinations in the country is Cebu Pacific.
Clark International Airport Corp. (CIAC) President and CEO Alexander Cauguiran said Wakay Air is set to connect Clark to Nueva Vizcaya via Bagabag Aiport on Wednesday (May 17). “It would be more convenient for tourists to see the famous rice terraces in Banaue, Mountain Province and other places in that region.”
CRK now has 94 weekly domestic flights and 138 international flights. “The figures will increase with the new players eyeing to establish hubs in Clark.
“With the entry of domestic carriers like the Cebu Pacific, Philippine Airlines, AirAsia, Wakay Air and Sea Air, Clark is projected to service approximately 1.5 million by the end of 2017,” said Cauguiran in a statement.
Meanwhile, Atty. JR Mantaring, CEB vice president for corporate affairs, said that the flight expansion also extends the reach of its cargo services further eliciting trade and investment in areas where CEB operates.
Mantaring said the launch of four new routes of the CEB group is a positive development. It does not only benefit the locals in Boracay, Palawan and Cotabato but more so the residents outside of Metro Manila.
“Travelling to such destinations will definitely be more convenient as CEB continue to link more and more islands in the archipelago,” said Mantaring during the launch of Clark-Caticlan route.
Scheduled to fly Clark-Caticlan three times weekly, CEB will also open Clark-Busuanga and Clark-Cotabato starting May 16.
Aside from its Cebu hub and Clark, CEB also operates flights out of the four other strategically placed hubs on the country, Manila, Davao, Kalibo and Iloilo.
