MANILA – A tight security cordon has been thrown in and around the Cultural Center Complex, where the Philippine International Convention Center is situated, to ensure the safety and convenience of the heads of state and other government officials attending the 30th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) Summit and related meetings.

Motorists were advised to stay away from the thoroughfares around the immediate proximity of the CCP Complex, including W. Diokno Blvd., Jalandoni Street, V. Sotto Street, Bukaneg Street, and A. De La Rama Street.

There will be special Stop-And-Go schemes on Arnaiz Avenue, Makati Avenue, and Parkway Drive, and the routes of the VIPs from their hotels to the meeting venues. This means traffic will be paused for a few minutes each time a convoy passes by.

The Philippine Coast Guard has declared a No-Sail-Zone on the Manila Bay side of the complex.

Patience and understanding are being asked of the public for these few days of the Summit, especially for those who have had previously scheduled functions like commencement exercises at PICC, as well as those who would be affected by the lockdown while on their way to and from shopping malls nearby.
