There are fewer Filipinos nowadays, in this quarter, that is, who are afraid they’ll be burglarized, compared with those surveyed in the last quarter of a year ago, a Social Weather Stations poll disclosed.
Some 56 percent of the respondents expressed this sentiment in the survey conducted in March 2017, compared to the 63% in December 2016.
The March 2017 Social Weather Survey was conducted from March 25-28, 2017 using face-to-face interviews of 1,500 adults (18 years old and above) nationwide, 600 in Balance Luzon and 300 each in Metro Manila, Visayas, and Mindanao (sampling error margins of ±3% for national percentages, ±4% for Balance Luzon, and ±6% each for Metro Manila, Visayas and Mindanao).
The SWS survey questions about families victimized by common crimes and feelings of neighborhood-insecurity are directed to an adult respondent. Such items are non-commissioned, and are always included on SWS’s own initiative and released as a public service, with first printing rights assigned to BusinessWorld.
